Exclamation Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

I NEED TO KNOW if anyone has ever heard these and if there are ANY differences.

1. They both have the powerchamber.
2. Obviously the "long" are longer.
3. I hate myself. Sorry, but this exhaust crap hurts my head.

Does anyone have either of these, or have heard either of these to tell me if there is any difference in the sound? Are the staggered louder because they are slightly shorter? Are the "longs" deeper because they are longer? Do they sound "about the same"? Hook a brother up. I'm leaving it up to cyclespot to pick my exhaust because.........well.........it's a trust thing.

Re: Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

Thug I've used the VHBBS's, the fit and finish is excellant, as I'm sure the longshots are as well, the longshots tend to lose a lot of power, the staggered's are better but, neither is stellar. I mean they sound good, talk to someone about where you are going with your bike down the road, as to if you are going to build it anymore, heads, cams, efi or carbs, ignition, pcIII's, where are you going to end up and build to suit those needs.

Re: Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

Apparently.....and this beat me up for a while. V&H has big shots long and longshots. Big shots long have the "chamber" and no crease in the pipe, where the longshots have no "chamber" and 2 part heat shields. I assumed that the BSS and the longs would be close except for like 6 inches of pipe. Is this wrong? Thanks.

I have the logshots, and they sound really good, but I'm told they are a poor choice for performance.

Re: Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

I still think I would look for a better performing pipe, but if you are set on V&H, I'm going to sell my VHBBS's fairly cheap no marks and only 1600 miles on them. If you are interested, 200 bucks and you pay shipping.

Re: Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

Not bad. I'll let you know. My buddy put BSS on his Night Train and I think they sound really good. Part of the reason for the Big Shots Long was so they would look different than his....if that makes any sense. But I'm not against the BSS either.

Re: Big Shots Staggered vs. Big Shots Long

i've been watching your posts for quite some time now on this subject :lurk: Here's what I have for you. I had big shots on my Dyna Low Rider, didn't care for the sound all that much, kind of ratty.
I put the Longshot HS on my Softail deluxe, very happy with them, after some modification to the baffles. They needed to be a little louder for me. Now, I really like the sound. I wasn't worried about performance to much though, trust me the bike is no slouch in the power dept and for the type of riding I'm doing I am happy with my current set up. The neighbors don't appreciate the car alarms going off but they'll get over it.
What ever you finally decide on will be 1000% better than stock.
