Paint Code - 2006 Fire Red Pearl

Can anyone tell me the paint code for a 2006 Softail standard in Fire Red Pearl? I am replacing the front fender and the painter said the paint code would be a big help. Thanks

If nobody can get it for you, I'll ask my hubby, when he gets home on Friday. He's out of town on a paint class for work. He works for Dupont paint and they buy parts each year to come up with the paint code for replacement paint. See if UltraFlame (Terry) is on here, he's a painter too. He may be able to get it for you.

I found this for an 07...didn't list that color under the 06's...

Fire Red 909372

This probably is it, but it may NOT be...so please, have your painter bring a fender or something to his local PPG supplier to verify the color...

Re: Paint Code - 2006 Fire Red Pearl

FWIW, codes are usually meaningless when buying the paint. The best way to do it is to bring a fender or something in and have the paint shop color eye it to get a match and pull a code...that way there you know they are mixing up a match.

Also, I have run into factory branded HD paint (HD label on can of paint that was mixed by an aftermarket source) that was not an exact match to the color it was supposed to be, so I always prefer the color eye method when possible.

Re: Paint Code - 2006 Fire Red Pearl

you can only get touch up paint at dealer and it will be close but no match like flame said take a piece to your ptr. I thought hd was made by PPG and they will not give you the color

Re: Paint Code - 2006 Fire Red Pearl

Actually you can order a quart of paint from HD...it'll just take time to get there....like the touchups they sell. PPG does the OEM HD Colors yes, but if you were to buy HD brand, and aftermarket mfg reformulates, and is usually a 4:1 with hardner mix, rather than a 1:1 like PPG DBC is. Not even sure how they are handling the newer stuff...I know 2011 colors are done using waterborne paints, which further complicates things!
