View Full Version : Finally ....

Those SE II mufflers I've been polishing for 2 months and trying to get on my bike for another month, they're finally on.
The different support tube that Markster suggested that I didn't think was going to work, WORKED. Thanks Markster. But it was the tech support that Oldcutlass got me from HD that did it. I showed that to the service department and they checked online with HD tech support and downloaded directions. Then the parts manager was saying it will work and the service manager said it won't work so they pulled it into service and, PRESTO, it worked. The controversy was over the support tube that came from an Evo engine.
Itn sounds much better. Sounds like a Harley should. Not too loud. Just a hell of a lot better than stock.

Hey Wind
That is good news! and yeah they do sound like a Harley should.

Most of the time my owner management overides the part and service management in a case like this. :grinyoyo: Yeah, I am dangerous at times but it all works out.

Now don't be messin with them baffles !

No, they sound just fine like they are. Don't need any more.

And when I proudly dragged my wife out to hear the pipes, she asked if I bought new. I told her No, those are the ones I bought cheap and have been polishing. She couldn't believe it. They looked so good she thought they were new. She liked the sound but said "All boys are the same. You like to make noise."

that is so funny wind (part about the wife). I bring my wife out to the garage for all my simple mods, and she comes out just to humor me then turns about face and is in the house faster then it took her to get out there :) Anyway glad all worked out for your.

Congrats Wind!!!

I'm really happy it all worked out for you! I just bolted on a set of eBay SEII's a couple of weeks ago and I can't believe how much better the bike runs and sounds with them on. (I also did the low idle jets and a Yost Power Tube at the same time) I think it's the best mod I've done and probably the best mod I'll ever do. (My wife still thinks the Mustang seat is the king.)

Don't be surprised if you find yourself sitting in your garage, on your bike, in your slippers listening to the music from those pipes.

Ride safe.
