Hi guys,

Just found these forums after looking for a good place to buy a new set of Vance and Hines BigShot Staggereds. I will be ordering them from here shortly, but I've been looking for some opinions first.

The bike currently has an SE air cleaner and SE slip ons and was jetted prior to my owning the bike (I bought used from a dealer ). I've checked the plugs and they look right in her current setup over the last 1300 miles or so.

So, my plan is to install the new BigShots and then just monitor the plugs to see if it needs to be tweaked. In your experience, do you think it'll be necessary, or is it more likely that the new pipes won't really change much from where it is now?

Second question, do the "quiet baffles" require more adjustment over the stock (as delivered) baffles?

Thanks in advance?

...Jim

Sorry 'bout that.

It's a 2001 Softail Deuce, carb'ed.

Thanks,

I just had Pythons Dual Staggered's installed on my bike. They are basically the same pipe as the V&H Big Shot Staggered's.. and my carb was already jetted... I didn't need to replace plugs, just simply tweek the jet kit already installed.

Good luck, and you have found the best spot on the internet to Chat and purchase parts for your bike!

Welcome to CC!

I figured it would be something like that...

Thanks,

Hey plut,
Where is Pelham? I was raised in NH. In a small town outside of Concord called Contoocook. Ever hear of it? It was a great place to grow up. Love New England, especially New Hampshire, Vermont, & Maine.

I've heard of Contookcook.

Pelham = west of Salem, East of Nashua, South of Hudson, Londonderry, Derry, Windham. Just over the Mass border from Lowell and Dracut.

I've lived in NE all my life. Even though I'm no fan of snow, cold or rain, I can't imagine living anywhere else...
