Anyone have Ace Bags on their bike?
What do you think of them?
I'm considering saddle bags but having a tough time deciding which brand
to buy as there are so many good ones out there.
I want to have a good clean look on the bike when the bags are removed via some kind of quick release.
Cheers,
Wayne

I have seen the boss bags and they seem to be clean and made in a few sizes

Ghost Brackets are the most popular of quick detach options, I have American Eagle Leatherworks bags and ghost brackets. There are pictures in my gallery. It was between Boss and American Eagle for me, both are pricey though. Both are guaranteed to hold their shape (the boss bag guys will stand on their bags).
The BossBags look is not as clean to me as Ghost Brackets when the bags are removed...

See my gallery for the Ghost Bracket look without the bags.
The GB work with the detachable sissy bar and they extend the detachable posts of the strut.

Also see my Gallery (& read the comments) (http://www.cyclespot.com/forums/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=581) I have some close up shots that show how close the bags get to the bike ... IMHO it's a better look than the ghost brackets.

Also I had a bag fall off (cuz I was in a hurry and didn't engage it right) on the highway. It slid across two lanes of Highway and ended up on the side of the rode (Don't think anyone hit it). The only damage was a few minor scuffs on the back plastic and metal pate.
The only one thing I don't like is that the opening (not the lid) does lose it shape a bit (don't stay square).

Capatosta,
I see from your pictures that Boss Bags have updated their connection mechanism and no longer have the posts (as in the photo I posted from their website). It appears they work with detachables now too.
What's the mechanism on the bag look like? can you post a picture of the inside and the backside of the bag?

Gday,
I dont know if you can get Kazz Mazz saddle bags in the US, they are made in Perth West Australia.
I brought a set for my 91 Super Glide they are very reasonably priced and come with goust brackets. They are all genuinely hand made and look great.
You can get them in all sizes so they wont interfere with custom exhausts.
Check them out at www.kazzmazz.com

I'm Not sure I see that much of a change. Maybe the studs are a little shorter and stubbier.
I took a while for me to get come pics of the inside but I finally got 'em

Wow, they really changed their attachment mechanism. The BossBags I saw attached with a mechanism that looked like an air-hose coupling. Inside the bag was the coupler with the sliding sleeve. This is quite different from what I recall, both inside the bag and on the bike.
Looks like a tighter fit for the bag to the bike, the locks on the Ghost Brackets are cleaner.
Thanks for posting.

The Web Site is http://www.leatherpros.com/website1_005.htm

Yes the ghost bracket locks are cleaner. I just didn't like how far they make the bags sit off the fender. The boss bags are much closer, especially if you have a detachable sissy bar.
As far as the website leatherpro ... I'm not sure they are the same as boss bags. They kind of Look the same. You'll have to take a closer look I just perused the site quickly.
Hey, I just read a post that leatherpro and Boss Bags are brothers The prices are not that far apart.
I got my Boss Bags from Iron Horse Trading (http://www.ironhorsetrading.com/BB31_Model31.htm)
If you are interested go to http://ironhorsetrading.com/ or call them at 414-975-6288, I spoke with the owner, Matt and he is a real standup guy. You have 30 days to try the bags and you can send them back if you are not satisifed. He provided me with a great deal of information. If you call him to order tell him that Capatosta # 005074 referred you'll discount on your order.

Don't nobody like Willie and Max. Got them with easybrackets. Look good, low maintainance. All for $2-300.
