Does anyone run Troublemakers???? Do they sound like the V&H Big Radius? I still haven't put new pipes on my '06 FatBoy and I like the looks of the Troublemakers. I was wondering how they sound. Lots of people running Big Radius and I have heard them.

Do you mean they sound the same to you ? I hope so because I like the looks of the Troublemaker slash cut.

I'm not really sure how they compsre to V&H in sound, but I have had 2 different mechanics tell me that the performance is better on the Hookers. This is due to the ceramic coated, step down design of the Hookers.
Now, before all of the guys running V&H tell me I'm an idiot and full of crap, I will say again, this is what two mechanics have told me, not my own technical opinion.
I love the way the Troublemakers look and sound on my bike.
Good luck!

I don't think the V&H big radius use stepped headers or the V&H "Power Chamber" (sounds so shifty...). Based on the info I've picked up around this place...I'd guess the Hookers would perform better. Any takers?

Thanks for the performance info and for the picture. I have heard the Big Radius and wish I could hear the Troublemakers. The stock shotguns that are on my Fatboy are too quiet and I have heard bikes that are so loud that they (in my opinion) sound like crap. I am looking for a sound comparable to the Big Radius with the baffles in, but I would rather run the Troublemakers if the sound is comparable. Everyone around here are running the VH, but I have not seen a set of the Troublemakers on a bike in my area.

True, Hookers would probably perform better. The only VH pipe with their power chamber are the Big Shot Longs and the Big Shot Staggered. Sound-wise, they would both sound great!

Sparky,
If you PM me your email addy, I will send you a clip of my bike running with the Troublemakers.
Keep in mind that it sounds WAY better in person than on the computer, but at least you can get an idea of how they sound...

Make some rounds to the local bike shops, bike shows and rally's. Chances are, you will find someone running the Troublemakers.
It is important to see and hear them in person and also talk to some owners.
I know what you mean about the sound. I used to run the V&H Big Radius on my old standard. In my humble opinion, there is no better sounding pipe on the market. However, I have never heard the Troublemakers! I now use the V&H "stepped drag pipes" on my FLSTCI. I like them too. They are much louder though. But loudness aside, the Big Radius had a certain rounded tone that I haven't heard on any other set of pipes, so let us know what you discover about the troublemakers.

I haven't been able to find a bike in this area running ANY kind of Hooker exhaust. About 95% are running some kind of VH. The last set I heard was when we rode up Whiteface Mt. last week. There was a guy with a Fatboy running VH short shots and I went over and asked him if I could hear them. He was more than happy to fire it up, smiling all the time. We ended up talking with them for about an hour and rode down the mountain with them. Good conversation starter and my wife gets to ask the wife/girlfriend if they are too loud for her as a passenger.

You can buy differant baffles for the Troublemakers(Deep, Loud, etc). I don't think there are any available for Big Radious.
