Has anyone used these or actually heard what they sound like? Or know of a good set like this that will fit on a RK? Im trying to get a set up where they dont need the bag support for installation.

I have looked into this pipe a lot. And is one of my fore fronts for pipes. I heard the performance on the short pipes are not the best so keep that in mind if you are buying for performance or sound.

Gixster, that's my understanding also. Especially on FI bikes.

Yeah, I have heard the same as well. Anyone have any other thoughts on some pipes for a RK that would not use the stock bag type mount?

Are you opposed to a 2 into 1 pipe like the Fat Cat? it uses the transmission mount. And you can get a Ghost pipe if you want to retain the Duals look.

Well Jim, I hadnt considered the 2 into 1 systems, but decided to take a look after your suggestion. The Fat Cat system looks pretty good, but I dont see an ECM map for PCIII for any of the D&D systems. So I looked at the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe 2 into 1 (which PCIII has a map) and they look just as good and bolt to the trans as well. As for the sound of either, I have no clue.

I know V&H's reputation but dont really know about D&D. Would the V&H's be a better system, or the same?

By the way, thanks for taking time to help out on this. :thumb:

V&H is quality stuff no doubt, but I personally feel the Fat Cat would make more power than the Pro-pipe, and sounds cool. How do I Know? I have one on my personal bike and love it. D&D very well may have maps themselves for the fatcat, I can call Don on monday and find out. If not, you could always dyno your bike, or just run a similar map (like pro-pipe one) and adjust it to the fatcat needs.

Last time I spoke with Don he advised me that they only do maps for the SE Race Tuner. The guy who does the maps helped with the software developement. That was about a month or a little longer ago.
