is this a feature that is available only once you have reached a posting milestone? If not I am confused on how or where some of you have the ability to use them.

I haven't figured out how to use them either.

I'm perplexed but that's not hard on a Monday morning.

To upload a custom avatar it has to be a maximum of 120 X 120, generally 100 x 100 works best. So if you image is larger you will need to re-size it smaller. Also the file size limit is 35k for avatars. If you cannot re-size you images, please e-mail me them, and I will re-size them and install them for you.

Hey DJ,

I'm lost. I can upload a Profile Pic without a problem, but I can't seem to load a Custom Avatar. I can select from various avatars that are available but I don't see where I need to go or what I need to do to load my own avatar.

Is there some piece of info I'm missing? :freak:

Thanks for your help!

I still don't get it. I don't have an option to use a custom avatar.

DJ, help I'm drowning man :brainfart

Hmmm this is odd. If you go into your user cp, you should see a link to "edit Avatar" once you click that, below the generic avatars there should be a circle you have o select to use a custom avatar, then there should be a box for uploading one. If this is not there for you let me know, I will check into it.

Ok Guys and Gals, I found the setting, it was turned off in the admin for registered users. You should all now be able to upload your custom avatars. Sorry for any trouble this may have caused. :nut:

ok DJ another quick question. I notice your avatar is 120x90 32k saved as a bmp and yours works. When I tried sizing mine at 120x83 29k bmp I get the following message "That image is too large. The maximum dimensions are 80 by 80 pixels.
" So I have to resize mine to 80x80. Which if owning and being the admin you get this privledge I fully understand, just want to know if that is the limit.

Thanks all.

I agree, I have a 120x120 that will not go up as a jpg or bmp. Says max is 80x80. Let us know Jim!

Ok everyone, I have just updated the system and you should be able to upload avatars up to 120x120 and 40K. :tongue2:

Hope this helps out!

WHoooooooHoooooooo! It's gonna be like xmas. Sometimes it took me 4 or 5 times reducing it until I got it right.

BikerBabe, you done good. (I guess this was more of a storage space issue, Right?

I guess this was more of a storage space issue, Right?

Storage space and trial and error of seeing what worked and in this case what didn't. For now we can have bigger pics. When we get more members and the space begins to run out, then we may need to decrease them again, but for now, go for it with the ones you have. Glad I could help make things a bit easier.

Hey BB, I don't know if any one told you yet... you can use custom avatars now, you don't have to take one of the defaults anymore :)

Since I uploaded all the defaults, does that make all of them my custom one? Hehehe

I'm open to suggestions and ideas Gix. Since I don't have a bike of my own yet (guess I could put a pic of the pillion pad up :shifty: ), lol, I just picked the scuba guys since I like to do that too.

Biker Babe, how you feeling? How are you getting around these days. I was going to suggest you change your logo but thought I'd wait to you were feeling better. Maybe you'll take it as the joke its inteneded to be.

Yesterday the pillion pad, today the crutches, tomorrow the controls.

Huh? What do ya think? :ignore:

LOL, you sound like DJ "today the pillion, tomorrow the pillion"! I've thought about putting something more witty up there, just haven't thought of anything yet. :nut:

I am feeling better, thank you for asking. Full weight on my ankle for walking, but I still can't wear anything but my tennis shoes without being in a lot of pain shortly afterwards. :kod:

Next step is the motorcycle safety course when I have a second of free time and then I will decide if I want to ride on my own or continue to be a passenger.
