Hey Bros, i have a 2005 FLSTCI fuelie. With V&H Big Shots Long (no Baffles), and dealer installed Screaming Eagle stage 1 air cleaner. No other perf. mods. Wondering if it would be worth wild to put a higher flow air cleaner on? I am also looking at buying the dynojet powercommander. I know, I know!!! "Put the baffles back in". NO! :tongue2: I have to be louder than my brother. I have about all the chrome I want on it now its time for performance. Any other suggestions would be helpfull. BTW- Ness big sucker II, Hypercharger pro-r, or maybe a sidewinder??? I do almost all in town/backroads riding. Occasionally 500 mile rides on the interstate, minimal 2-up.

thanks,
Looking shiney, now lookin to go fast.

05HeritageRider,
I'd love to sell you a StageII air filter assembly, but realisticly, with the amount of mods you have, a larger air filter element is not going to gain you any power. The stage I is generally good to about 90 HP after that it becomes a restriction.

Thanks DJ. So I don't need to change the air cleaner yet. Then what might you suggest for more power? Key thing to remember here is that I am doing my own work on it, and don't want to have to remove the tank, or dig into the engine. Read... "simple bolt-on". Also, should I get the powercommander, or the HDRT? Would either one give me any benefit? I seem to be running a bit rich right now.

The power commander would benefit your bike with the mods you currently have. If your not looking at doing engine mods, I think that's about all your going to get. Bigger cams, heads, 95 inch etc will be the next step.

I really do appreciate your input, and apparent expertise!!! :beerchug: What order, and what mods would you suggest then? Cams, head work, big bore at the same time, or in a certain order? Or go to the Sreaming Eagle 103 stroker, 95 inch, or just changing things in my existing motor? Also, is it possible to get 100 hp out of this motor without spending a million dollars, or losing my everyday rideability?

My 95 inch with SE heads and cams makes right at 100hp and 98 ft lbs of torque. To get that kind of power, you will need heads cams, and 1550 kit. I can make some suggestions on components if you desire.

I really hate to be a pest, but that would definately be most appreciated. With the set-up that I have, would that be the reason that I'm running rich right now? Until I get the powercommander and repro.?

i have a 2003 flstci.I put 203 cams in,v=h longshots,with baffles,and had the reprogramming done.it runs well now.

Honestly, running with out baffles robs you of power.

Stay away from the se rt. waste of money.

I'm ready to get the pc 111 and ness big sucker. After that,I'll need to spend money to have the heads done.

And it will still be a little old 88......hee hee.. :jump:

Hi DJ... I am starting to "think" about performance upgrades as well... and would really like to understand what would be required...

As always your reccomendations... and explanations are always helpful...

And any ball park estimate of cost for parts wouldn't hurt either... 100HP and 98 torque sounds like a lot of funnnnnn :flamejump

Has anybody looked at the new moco's response to the power commander? It installs inline like the p/c and can be hooked up to a lap top and records data during a ride, shows fuel mixture readings and all that so you can tweak everything more / less on the fly. Takes some of the guess work out of the p/c. I already have the p/c in, and minimal mods, but I wanted someone who has more expertise than myself for the next go around.
