Today I heard a rumor from a pretty reliable source. He said basicly Harley was being pressured by the EPA to do away with the air-cooled engine as it has a higher emissions output than liquid-cooled. And that the V-rod was the begining of what would soon become an all liquid-cooled lineup. The transformation is supposed to take place by 2007, anyone here have confirmation or denial of such a undertaking by the MOCO? :nut:
Seems air-cooled could be a collectors item soon....
There's a lot of EPA-related rumors going on right now. While there's some new emissions laws likely to come in during the next few years, there's absolutely nothing to the 'rumor' of EPA pressuring out of air-cooled. IMHO
As far as H-D rumors go, I'm STILL waiting for them to put 6speed tranny's in their touring bikes before I part with my hard-earned dough for one!

At least now they are now selling 6 speeds. The MoCo website has them for only $3,000. If you just want the gears I think it is about $2,600.
What a deal :gasthrowe
