When I bought my bike it came with a standard theft deterrent system which disables the bike and has only the visual indicators that flash if someone rocks the bike hard enough. I have seen the alarm systems that include a siren and a pager and wondered if anyone had this installed and if so how is it working for you? I’m wondering about real range numbers on a pager and that kind of thing.

Well, I installed the siren and really like it - especially the little "chirp, chirp" sound when I arm it. :) Only negative is when I forget I've armed it and set it off in front of a store or something. People seem to enjoy the ensuing dance I perform trying to get my key fob out of my jeans to shut it off. :lol

Silver, where are you riding? With the weather we've been having you must be riding inside the mall.

Question on the siren. I see that Harley has an alrm that will bolt into my 1999 Wide Glide but the siren is battery operated (9V I think).

That can't be very loud, What Alarm are you using silver??

I've danced the same dance on other applications. I think I'll add the siren and pager just for some peace of mind if that's possible.

Uh, yeah. I guess I should have noted I was referring to spring/summer/fall. :)

WG4J,
The battery voltage doesn't really have much to do with decibels. I've heard some pretty loud buzzers powered by 9 volts. It'll get attention.

A buddy of mine has the pager, no siren. We were amazed at how far away from the bike it would work. Even with him in a building.
