Has anyone with a new fuel injected RK noticed after a couple minutes idle the pipes 4-6 inches down from cly head glowing red? 1/10 of a mile, bike has not been riden as winter here. Dealer says they have answered this question many times and is normal, anyone else notice this? Thanks

On my '05 Road Glide, I had to remove the exhaust to get at my transmission cover. I also installed new V&H oval slip-ons. Before I re-installed the heat shields, I started the engine to check for leaks. The engine ran at idle, sometimes fast idle, for a few minutes and the pipes glowed a bit cherry red. Yeah, I've been told that's typical. Guess that's why the pipes blue-out near the ports. They are set up to run very lean.
