View Full Version : Python 2-1 Exhaust
I'm looking to find that fine balance between performance, looks and sound for my 04' Deuce. The engine is a EFI Stage III 95 c.i. w/HTCC 10.5:1 pistons, HTCC Non-ported heads, SE 257 cam, HTCC intake manifold, SE high flow kit & SEII slip on mufflers. The dyno numbers are respectable but I know it's has greater potential with a less restrictive exhaust. If I stay with my current 2-2 system I will either 1) modify the SEII baffles to where only about 30-40% of the exhaust is being diverted into the baffles. 2) install S&S performance mufflers or 3) go with V&H Big Shot staggard.
My confusion comes when evaluating the many quality 2-1 systems. I've looked at the Fat Cats as well as most all others. The one system that in my opinion is one of the best looking 2-1 is the new Python 2-1 made by V&H for Drag Specialties.
Can you or anyone provide me with information on this system in regard to sound quality and overall performance?
Thanks

Hello SFTL-1,
Python is a brand name of Dragspecialties, the pipes are actually made by Vance & Hines for Drag, but carry the Python Name and slightly different appearance. The Python 2 into 1 is very similar to the pro-pipe (actually share many components) with just a little better appearance (scalloped end).
My personal opinion is go with the Fat Cat, so far it's hands down the best 2 into 1 out there.

Thanks DJ, I've heard good things about the Fatcats in regard to performance and build quality, chrome is great, the head pipes are stepped! I need to come to terms with the looks, particularly that massive 4" big-rig muffler pipe they use.
Have you ever heard the Python 2-1 set up? If so, how does it compare with the fatcats as well as traditional HD 2-2 systems?
Thanks
