Legend series Sampsons

I have the original ground pounders on my soft tail, no heat shields or cones. Thinking about up grading to the legend series rip saws with heat shields and baffles. I really like the sound of my ground pounders, but I am tired of cleaning them. Should I up grade or just spend $112.00 on heat shields for the ground pounders.I am buying new pipes either way, my current pipes are damaged.Rip saws are over $550 and new pounders and shields are $450. Decisions Decisions.

FWIW, I installed Samson Street Sweepers on my wife's 2001 Sportster.

The chrome bubbled, one of the mounting brackets broke, (had to get it rewelded) and the heat shields never did fit right.

I would look elsewhere, for a good set of pipes.

Had a set of Samson Rip Saws with heat shields on my Deuce for a while and liked them. Only reason to change was a cosmetic thing.
No problem with them.

I did'nt really want to spend $600 on pipes, The Sampsons are reasonable. Hey Hitman , how old were your pipes ?
