.....hey everyone , want to know if anyone can help . I just picked up my bike from HD (08 nightrain) , they installed samson blk ceramic coated street sweepers and they are WAY TOO QUIET for me , i want to remove the baffles and install power cones or torque cones in place of them and of course have it re-mapped . Anyone have this done and are you happy with the sound and throttle response ? I ride in a busy environment and need to be heard , thanks ....

Donnie, I have an 08 Night Train with V&H ShortShots with loud baffles and they are pretty loud. There is an option for quiet baffles for them. Does Samson offer different baffles for your pipes? I have heard different opinions from people about using torque cones on injected bikes and most are not positive.
Let me know what you do. I would like a set of drag pipes but I'm not ready to chance anything using torque cones and 02 sensors.

I learned the hard way, for the bike to run "correctly" it needs some sort of baffles. Tried over and over to get mine tuned without baffles, ir just was never right, had flat spots, detonation, and the bottom end plain sucked. Running v&h big shot chambered, sounds great, sounds awesome without the baffles, just cant get it dialed in.

Definetly need some back presure. The old school way is to drill two holes at the end of your pipes and stick 1/4 20 bolts through. That would create enough back presure to run rite and still be heard. But vance and hines is really the way to go with new bikes with fuel injection

dj here at cyclespot is the best, maybe you could inquire with him on a thundermax w/auto tune set up, and either some different baffles, or possibly cutting your baffles down.

hey guys thanks for the help. After a long fighting session to get the baffles out , i took her out for a ride . I noticed a big difference , i had no low end power and had some popping , but great once i opened her up on the hwy. So i did some inquires and found samson sells shorty baffles , so i saved 40 bucks and cut the stock ones down to 4 inches. Bike is running excellent with excellent sound . I will pull the plugs after a long ride to see if i am running too rich then i will have it re-mapped.

I have 07 FLSTC, installed Rush mufflers w/2.5 baffles, Screaming Eagle stage ll air system w/K&N filter. Then put on V&H fuel pak, it like I have a different bike then the one I left the dealer with. No more over heating,no hesitation, starts before full revolution and sounds wonderful.
Was frustrating cuz dealer would not help me alter the bike. I had to rely on friends and opinions.
Dont be afraid to try the combo, it really works.

hey what's going on, i've got a question related to baffles, and torque cones. I have an 08 stock Streetbob. I Have SE slip ons i'm running right now with stock programming and stock Air Inlet. I was wondering if I installed torque cones, would i be able to run without the mufflers on the pipes without hurting anything?
