You're right, everyone has opinions; especially on this subject which has been exhausted over and over. HOwever, the answer for you is: it depends. It depends on if you plan on doing future mods and whether those mods are mild or major.

First off, I don't trust Harley and like to keep control in my hands; so I advise against the remap always.

If you only plan Pipes/Air Cleaner: look at Fuelpak or a TFI unit like Techlusion, Dobeck or Daytona Twin Tec (The DTT is probably the best of these).

If you plan on mild mods: Look at the DTT or PCIII

If you plan on major mods: Get the best, get the TMAT

Regardless of all the above - if $$$$ is not an issue - get the TMAT. Good luck and let us know what u decide.

You should atleast get the air cleaner now, just my:2cents:

It will run better

I agree with the tmat, my thoughts on the slip-on is that you won't be happy with them. I no money can diffintely be an issue, but you should try and save your money and wait to get something that you would really be happy with. Like I said it's all what you want on your bike , my personal thought's are not to go with them. seen lot of them on bikes and never really seen set that I care for

If he does pipes and air cleaner at same time he will definitely fuel management - he'll be too lean otherwise.

Pipes definitely will not wake the bike up as much as pipes and fuel management. Again, MIGAIL01, unless you plan on major mods the TMAT is probably overkill; looks like the DTT might be a good fit for you. Like JD said, I would wait to do the pipes too until you can add fuel management.

Slip on mufflers are ok. Any more work will make you go to some kind of fuel management system. But with most you may see a loss in fuel mileage. The bigest concern is runnin to lean. Which can make you burn up piston's,valve's etc. go to nightrider.com to see an inexpensive way to richin your bike up
