I was wandering if anyone had tried to use exhaust wrap on Rinehart 2 into1 pipes?

welcome to the forum, i haven't but was thinkin about it on another set of pipes, then i heard that they are bad for the pipes, that they don't allow heat to excape and can mess stuff up in the long run. wait for some more posts, they'll come and give a good answer, don't know if what i heard is right or just hearsay so i'll watch and learn to

Exhaust wrapping is traditionally done to retain the heat of the escaping gases from the heads. Lower temps reduce gas velocities traveling out the pipes. Higher temps help keep velocity high, hence sustained go stuff. For high rpm peak hp purposes retaining heat can be an advantage. More of a cosmetic item for street riding IMHO. Yes condensation can form under the stuff but in racing applications a little erosion will be fixed with new pipes. Hope that's useful.

Thanks for the insight. This is the first time I've ever had 2 into 1 pipes. I have a Night Train and this was more for looks than performance. I like the sound and performance of the Rinehart, maybe I'll think about ceramic coating.

I think the majority of owners prefer the look of 2 pipes. The 2 into 1 setup is meant to be a performance design as it'll scavenge better than the more popular 2 into 2, in general. I run the V&H 2 into 1 Pro-Pipe HS & am very pleased with the performance. No problems with the chrome as yet.
