Vance & Hines Ovals on 2008 V-Twin

I want to transfer my Vance & Hines oval slip-ons from 2006 to new 2008FLHTCUI. I've heard that I don't need additional fuel management like I did with the 2006. Anybody putting free-er flowing mufflers on the new big twins without Power Commander or re-tuning?

You can do that. It will run a LITTLE leaner. This will make it run a little hotter also. If you can afford it, I would get a tuner on there. This would bring the temps. down and give you a little more power. Check with DJ when you are ready. I just ordered some tires from him and like everyone has said, he has the absolute cheapest prices out there.

To answer your question though, yes you can.

I would go with Fish's suggestion though, I would do fuel management anyways: it will run cooler (which is always a good thing) and have a few more ponies to boot!! (which is always a good thing)

Thanks guys. I know that you are both right. I noticed the difference right off when I put the Power Commander on my 2006. Sucks though that the Power Command III won't work on the 2008; amongst other things, the connectors are different. You would have thought someone would have come up with an adapter and firmware change to be downward compatible - but there probably isn't much of a profit in that.
