Hi I'm thinking of switching my VH short shots for big growls.
Do any of you own a set?
What's the quality like and why are they so cheap?

I have a set of Big Growl Sharp Shooters on my Sloptail. One reason for the low cost is there are no heat shields. Heat shields are available at more $$. Without heat shields hiding the pipe they will turn gold & blue, depending upon the tune of your bike. They seem to be well-made; at least they've held up well on my bike.
They are straight-thru 2-1/4 inch drag pipes. That means they are actually too big for good exhaust flow. The large diameter causes the spent gases to travel too slowly and reversion will happen. I have home-made lollipops and anti-reversion cones in mine. These helped the low-midrange torque enough that I could actually "feel" it. Baffles are also available for most of the Big Growls, but not all of them.
Here's a pic.
