I have a '07 Wide Glide, when I go over the slightest bumb, it sounds like my forks make a rattling noise. It usually happens after they are compressed and return to the regular position, kinda like they hit a travel stop excepionally hard 2 or 3 times very fast. Theres only about 2500 miles on my bike, and it's just started doing this(or I've just started noticing it). Anyone have a solution, or is this normal?:wtf:
Check the "fall away". This is the torque on the nut on the stem. It connects the trees to the frame. The HD manual for your bike will tell you how to do this. Sounds like yours may be a little loose. If not that, the bearings in the stem but I don't think so with only that few miles on the sled.

Springers are supposed to be checked every 2500 miles while hydraulics can go every 10K, but if it wasn't adjusted correctly to start with, then I'd say you're in the range of miles to start noticing it...

my bob did this. after taking it in under warranty twice and still not getting rid of it, I adjusted it myself, took a few times, seems like the races werent properly seated or something. In the end, it's good now, with me telling that service department off afterwards. lol

+1 for fall away. Had the same problem, had to adjust mine. The pinch bolts were loose to begin with.
