Inner primary cover

I have a Harley 2008 Softail Custom.I purchased a chrome inner primary cover from Kuryakyn.It would not fit.Worked with their tech support and they said it should fit.(NOT)When I tightened down the bolts on the primary the back of the cover would rise up about a half inch.This interfeared with the shift linkage.Cover looked good just would not fit.Anybody else had this problem?

Not saying this is the case but are you sure bought the right one?
