I have an '02 FLSTFI that I bought here in Texas but the original owner was from California. Is there anything I need to know or worry about the California models or there oxygen sensors? I have since put on a Stage 1 Screamin' Eagle Air Cleaner, Vance and Hines Straightshot Pipes, and a PCIIIr (mapped to my configuration). Does anything on the California models interfere with any of this? Thanks.

Hdfatboy02,
None of the Harley Davidson models yet have Oxygen sensors so that's not going to be an issue. California models do however have a EVAP system on them with a charcoal canister. Look in the front lower section of your frame and you may see a canister there connected to the intake tract in some way. I know many owners remove this system, and if the bike does or does not have it you should be fine. The emissions system should not interfere with anything you have modified.

Dyna Jim,
You responded to this question quite some time ago. Is the canister on later models, like '07 models, removable?

If the ike is to be registeed in CA leave it on or you will not pass inspection. Since the 7 models are fuel incted you may have problems if it is removed and the bike is not emapped or some other type of retuning you can burn out your values. I pesonnaly would not remove it.

MAN I CANNOT SPELL, this is what it was suppose to say.

The bike will be registered in Texas. Does anybody know whether or not there is a sensor connected to the evaporator cannister? If there is no sensor, removing the cannister should not pose a problem.

I don't think the cannister is mapped to a sensor. It's basically just a charcoal filter. Doesn't affect performance one way or the other. I removed it on my 93 cause it was ugly but they have it hidden on my 2007 so I'm not even worried about it. My bike is a Cali bike and I've added cams and pipes etc... with no problems.
