Ok folks, we need to get some good Karma flowing here. Many of you may or may not be aware that this board utilizes a reputation system or "Karma". :lightingz

What this is designed for is to reward those who help us all by posting topics or threads that are informative, as well as useful by everyone involved. On the top right hand side of member posts you will see a little http://www.cyclespot.com/forums/images/buttons/reputation.gif This is where you give or take away Karma from a member depending on how well you think they contributed or how noteworthy their post was.

This is especially important for everyone here, and will be rewarded by CycleSpot by giving high rated "Karma" receivers, CycleSpot Cash http://www.cyclespot.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/gift_cert_tn.jpg This will be in the form of gift certificates usable in our online store for things like Chrome, or go fast parts, or whatever your heart desires.
This will not only benefit you individually, but also the board in general because YOU the members decide what's worthy of Karma, and what's not.

I hope this gives everyone here a better understanding of how to give Karma, and what it should be used for. So give a little Karma today, and spread the Karma love to each other. :bounce1:
Now the Fine Print:
Please don't just randomly for no worthy reason offer up Karma. People who abuse this system for personal gain will be disqualified from the promotion. Karma should be given for worthwhile, and helpful posts.

OK, So I clicked on your Karma button. I was asked if it was positive or negative. I clicked positive, and then left a note "Test to see how Karma works"

Now where would this show up? Does it show up for admin users or can members go look at this also

Maalox,

The admins can see your Karma ranking, and when it gets higher, you will get additional green dots http://www.cyclespot.com/forums/images/reputation/reputation_pos.gif under your join date, and next to your posts amount.

Also you can view who has given you karma in your profile, and user CP. This will tell you who gave the Karma, and for what, and also what comment they made. Go check yours, I just gave you some. :elk:

I didn't think we gave out karma, I thought we earned it by being good forum boys & girls, and you gave out the karma.

Wind,
The admin and moderaters can give out karma, but if someone makes a post that is helpful to you, you can give them karma to say thank you too. Either way, you're still being rewarded for being a good member. :angel2:

Karma, is really designed to help the forum govern itself and aid in adding useful content by its members. Really we want you, the end user to give each other the Karma. That way you the end user has a say, or vote, in whats useful and whats not on the forum. To be honest, the admins and moderators probably won't hand out much Karma, we leave it up to you. :whip:
