Ok - here is a question I have been pondering for a while now - I have a 2003 Fatboy - if I get a 2007 fender / wheel / rear pulley - will the 200mm tire/wheel combo fit without changing the swingarm? From what I can tell the frames / swingarms are identical - the only differences I can see is the fender/fender struts/narrow rear pully/narrower belt/rear wheel and possibly the rear brake caliper. Has anybody out there considered this or checked into it? I love the 200mm tire on the Fatboy but cant see spending the cash for a new bike or the $3000 they want for an aftermarket rear end kit - it seems to me that it can be done with stock HD parts. How wrong am I on this?
I'm pretty sure that the widest you can go on an 03 is a 150 rear tire.
My next door neighbor has a 150 on his 03 Fat Boy, and it was a pretty tight fit.

I agree that the 150 is the widest for a stock 03 but I am talking about switching to an 07 fender / 07 wheel - but keeping the same swingarm - I have heard of people putting a 200 tire on a Deuce with the stock swingarm - the Fatboy swingarm should be the same one. I think I need to take a tape measure into my local HD dealer and check it out
The Deuce has a wider swingarm, and is wider at the rear of the frame.
I'm pretty sure that the fat tire FB's have a wider one, too. And, a thinner belt.

so maybe I will have to find a 2007 swingarm also. I know to some this all may sound like a lot of work just for a 200mm tire but I have my bike the way I like it and dont really want to trade it off for a new one then have to start all over - but when I saw that fat tire on the back of the 07 Fatboy I thought it was awesome.

that fat tire does look awesome but the skinny little belt scares the hell out of me. i put a chain on my roadglide and can't feel or hear the difference

I hear that about my Train...everybody loves the 200 on the back, then someone will comment about the size of the belt...lots of us running around on them tho, and haven't heard of any problems...I'm sure likin' this bike, too!
