I recently purchased an '05 Thunder Mountain Black Hawk 240. It has a screaming eagle 103 with a Supertrapp Kerker exhaust. The exhaust is discoloring where the pipes meet and I realy dislike the look of a 2 in 1 pipe. So I am looking for a new exhaust. I was originally looking at the Xzotic Lake pipe but I found a picture of them and they where severly discolored. I want to keep the advantages of the 2 in 1 pipe but not the look. Am I stuck with only the V&H big shot staggered? Any help would be appreciated.

well if you sway away from a 2/1 you will not find any 2/2 exaust on the market that will perform like a 2/1...v/h will be fine to hide the bluing with the heat shields that wrap around the pipe.

I have a 2007 FXST and hate the sound and performance of my stock pipes (mufflers). I am much more interested in performance rather than show. I will spend my mony on HP rather than Harley chrome made in China. What id you guys thoughts on the best 2 into one system. Hoes the Python stuff?

I sell em all but D&D Fat Cat is the best performer hands down.:welcome:

Just put Vance & Hines Big Radius on my Deuce. Some people don't like them I hear but I love them and all the response I get here in Hawaii are positive. Never will discolor on you.

I have been looking at several types of exhaust. For a comparison of exhaust capabilities I have been looking, forgive me for saying, another chat room. The websight is nightrider.com. There is a link on the right side at the bottom call TC Exhaust. I would post the URL but since I am new here I can not put links on my messages. The exhaust pipe I have now ranks high but I am not looking for just perforamnce. Sound and look rank higher.

I'd go with the D&D Fat Cats or V&H Big Radius 2 into one. Both perform well and look and sound good. Dyna Jim sells both at a great price,:goodmod:

DJ - which is better, the standard or quiet baffle?

DJ - which is better, the standard or quiet baffle?
I've not asked David (owner of D&D) about how much the quiet baffle hurts performance. I doubt much, but I know for a fact the standard baffle supports up to 110 Hp and 115 ft. lbs. of TQ.
Personally the standard baffle was too quiet for me, but everyone has a different idea of Loud. Seems the trend these days is less noise.

my first personal choice was 2/1 d&d fatcats but got a smoking deal on my v/h 2/1 & have no regrets on these pipes...dyna jim will give you a smoking deal on either with my choice still being d&d fatcats...either pipes will work good with no disapointments...

RB Racing LSR 2-1 is tops in performance. It's pricey and it is not an off-the-shelf item, each one is made to order, so there's a long wait time.
The owner is a qwirky guy too....some think he's arrogant, but that's not true. I've met him, and he is a true absent minded professor/inventor type. Very focused on his projects and not a lot of time for idle talk about the weather. So, be it email or the phone, they're not interested in wasting time.
The LSR is a great pipe, but it is a LOUD one. I've set off car alarms. The Black Hole is much quieter, but much pricier. There is also no "baffle packing mat'l" in this pipe. 100% steel, and I'm not talking soup can steel either.
I have this model on my Heritage:

Here's some guy's youtube of an LSR on his bike. The audio's not great, but it does give a fair idea of what they sound like. I describe them as having a sort of NASCAR quality to them.

The quiet baffle most likely will give more bottom and mid range performace due to the increased back pressure. Can be a good tuning aid. Looking for
more off the bottom ??? use the quieter baffle, looking for more top ??? go
loader. You can play with back pressure to find a happy medium. While you play with back pressure you'll probably have to follow along with the tuner.

Ordered a '07 FLHRC way back in December and spent a fair amount of time trying to find the best 2 into 1. By far the most popular choice on all the forums I checked was the D&D FatCat. The bike is due for delivery in July when I get home from work. Got Candy Apple Red sheet metal and a dummy left pipe being done for it. Plus lots of other goodies, will let you guys know what I think of the FatCat when I finally get to ride it, hopefully before the '08 comes out!

If I need to go with a 2-1 pipe, I want something on the radical side to go with my chopper. Has anyone heard anything about the Supertrapp Phantom Pipe?

I am looking for a 2 into1 system for performance. I have a Thundermaxx autotuner and a big sucker air filter. Will the newer 07 /06 pipes come through with the bungs and will they work on an 05 stock w/ forward controls?

Like DJ said, you can't go wrong with D&D Fat Cats and CycleSpot has the best prices around.

Fat Cats are fine, but take a look at V&H Big Radius 2 into 1. They look&sound outstanding, produce great performance. I beleive that if you order them for an 05 they will not come with bungs, however they can be added. Jim has the V&H BR 2-1 and I think he has or knows where to get bung kits. Good luck,Keep me posted.:soon:
